We walk Saint Brigid’s way today
We walk Saint Brigid’s way today
Through Monasterevin’s grace;
With pilgrim hearts and steady steps
We seek God’s holy place.
We gather at the parish church,
One family in prayer;
To bless the road, to share the light,
And meet Christ walking there.
We thank you, God, for shepherds sent
To guide this flock with care;
For bishops who, in faith and hope,
Stand with your people here.
We hold in love all those who long
To journey on this way;
Whose bodies ache, whose strength is frail,
Yet walk in heart today.
Her cloak still shelters wandering hearts,
Her flame still lights our own;
She calls us into generous love
Where Christ is met and known.
So guide us, Brigid, gentle friend,
Through journeys great and small,
Till every road and resting place
Becomes God’s home for all.

Reflection
I wish I could walk St Brigid’s Way with the Monasterevin parish today, but dialysis has me walking a different path.
Still, prayer travels where feet cannot, and Christ meets us wherever we are.
Holding all the pilgrims close in heart and prayer.
I wrote a hymn for the walk.
