For mornings soft with gentle light
A personal hym of daily thanks for modern medicine.
A Hymn of Daily Thanks
Common Metre (CM)
For mornings soft with gentle light,
For breath within my chest,
I thank you, God, who holds my life
And grants my spirit rest.
I twist the child‑proof bottle cap
With steady, two‑handed care;
The tablet resting in my palm
Becomes my daily prayer.
A sip of 7up to take
This gift that guards my days;
And in its calm, familiar grace,
My heart lifts up in praise.
For truth that frees me from my fear,
For peace that now I own:
That living well with daily care,
I’m safe, and not alone.
For love that stayed, for friends who held
My story without shame;
For courage growing day by day,
I bless your holy name.
So keep me walking in your light,
With gratitude made new;
For every breath and every dawn
I give my thanks to you.

Reflection
This hymn is my own thanksgiving.
Each day I open the child‑proof bottle with both hands, take my tablet with a sip of 7up, and feel the quiet reassurance that comes with it.
It’s a small ritual, but it protects me, steadies me, and lets me live my life with confidence and peace.
These daily meds have given me freedom—freedom from fear, freedom to love, freedom to trust my own body again.
And in that freedom, I’ve discovered gratitude: for the people who stayed close, for the courage that has grown in me, and for the God who walks with me in every ordinary moment.
This hymn is my way of saying thank you—for life, for protection, and for the gentle grace that meets me every morning.
