The Gentle Way

He steadies me when storms arise,
He keeps my heart at peace;
He makes sure meals are never missed,
And anxious thoughts release.

He watches that my tablets come
At times they’re meant to be;
His quiet care, his gentle ways,
Bring daily strength to me.

Though beds may stand in separate rooms
For breath and rest to stay,
Our love still holds through every night
As sure as every day.

Our cats curl close in evening light,
Like guardians of the hearth;
Their purrs a blessing soft as mist
That drifts across the earth.

The bears stand watch with ancient grace,
A plush and faithful band;
As if the old ones lent them strength
From hill and holy land.

For an’stors walk close at dusk,
Their footsteps soft and near;
They keep our home within their care
And guard us year by year.

And Christ, the Light within the dark,
Moves gently through our days;
His presence like a guiding flame
Along our winding ways.

He weaves our lives with those before,
A circle strong and wide;
His love the bond that holds us fast,
Our shelter and our guide.

So love becomes our daily bread,
A vow renewed each day;
With Christ, our kin, and cats and bears,
We walk a gentle way.
