Based for the readings at Mass, Sunday 7 September 2025. Jeremiah 18: 1-11 Psalm 139: 1-5, 12-18 Philemon 1-21 Luke 14: 25-33.
Silence to Begin
Let us enter the stillness.
Let the breath settle.
Let the soul listen.
We are the clay.
The wheel turns.
The Potter watches.
We resist change, yet we long to be made whole.
In the quiet, we feel the pressure of divine hands—firm, not harsh.
We are not discarded. We are reshaped.
🌀 Lord, in your mercy, shape us slowly. Shape us kindly.
We are known.
Before we speak, you understand.
Before we move, you are there.
You knit us together—not despite our difference, but through it.
You see the hidden places, the quiet joys, the unspoken fears.
And you call it “wonderfully made.”
🌌 Lord, in your mercy, let us rest in your knowing.
We are sent.
Paul speaks with love, not command.
He asks for reconciliation, not transaction.
He names Onesimus not as servant, but as brother.
In a world of misunderstanding, we long for clarity, for dignity, for communion.
🕊️ Lord, in your mercy, teach us to speak truth with grace.
We are called.
Jesus does not soften the cost.
He asks for everything.
To follow is to let go.
To walk with Him is to walk away from comfort.
Yet in the letting go, we find the path.
⏳ Lord, in your mercy, give us courage to choose you again and again.
Silence to End
Let us return to stillness.
We are clay, shaped.
We are souls, known.
We are disciples, sent.
We are pilgrims, called.
Amen.
